Journey of Journeys

The oft-quoted Chinese proverb says "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Here in 2022, I'm going to do a little "fixer upper" rework on that quote and say "A single step begins a thousand journeys."

Journey.

It's a simple word. Primarily defined as:

: an act of traveling from one place to another : trip

Also:

: often used figuratively : a spiritual journey

Yea, often.

Often, as in anything that used to be a project, process, or experience is now a journey.

If you're reading this, you're alive. And life itself is, of course, a journey.

Your gender is now a journey. No matter where that journey ends - be it male, female, non-binary, or something else, those are also journeys.

If you are of adult age, you've survived the journey from childhood to adulthood.

Considering an education to help guide your place in the world? Lace up your shoes for your new educational journey.

Out of school and looking to begin a career? Any option you choose, be it Project Manager, Real Estate Agent, or Nurse will require another journey.

Marriage? No question that's a journey.

Oh, did you buy a house or vehicle? You're now on a home ownership journey and car ownership journey.

Want kids? Start your birthing journey.

Have kids? Send us a postcard from your parenting journey.

Parenting is a busy time of life. Don't forget to move along on your personal health journey, which might spawn additional journeys for diets like Whole30 or Keto.

Kids and meal prep stressing you out? Maybe you should update your goals for your mental health journey.

Kids now grown adults and off on their own? You'll need to begin the journey to rediscover yourselves as empty-nesters.

And of course, now you are probably dealing with aging parents. Yep, it's another journey.

Hopefully you accounted for those costs while on your retirement planning journey.

Feeling overwhelmed? It's understandable. You didn't realize just how many journeys you were on.

Or, maybe you've been neglecting your spiritual journey.

We've arrived at the end of this blog post. Which means I can thank you for being part of my blogging journey.

Safe travels, friend. Careful where you step.
