OK - I’ve re-relaunched this site on a slightly different CSS approach, kindly provided by Elwin of http://www.cocoaholic.com/, a fellow pMachine user who answered my plea for help on the pMachine forums. Great folks there I tellya (and it’s well known - around here anyway - that Dutch people just plain rock..). Elwins layout fixes the size and position of the right navigation column, which seems to help IE6 render the pages consistently.
I’ve also added the beginnings of a portfolio section where you can read a couple articles and view a Boyink Interactive client list.

Some fun games for kids here - and some thought provoking reading. One of the reasons we homeschool is to allow our kids more time for play and fun. The modern school system is too focused on test results for such “trivial” matters.
http://www.g2meyer.com/usablehelp/index.html “Examining documentation and help systems for software and consumer products.”
Another blog to watch, complete with a gallery of 189 examples of software help. Too bad the text on the site is so tiny and isn’t adjustable in IE.
http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/aifia-metrics “Project Goals:
Currently, there are no standard methods and materials available for evaluation of information architecture. Usability questionnaires such as WAMMI (Website Analysis and Measurement Inventory) or QUIS (Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction) are not suited to information-rich domains. Our goal is to propose some standard methods and questionnaires suitable for the use by Information Architects.”
Add another mailing list subscription to the dozens I’m already subscribe to. Metrics are becoming more and more important these days. I’ve noticed in quite a few meetings with clients or potential clients that if they go ahead with a site - either new or a redesign - that this time they need to prove the value of the work to the business principals.
I think I’ve got the page loading issue fixed. It wasn’t one of those “aha” fixes where one single change was obviously it. As far as I can tell it was related to not specifying height and width parameters for the pogo stick images (bad, I know..) and the code that MeanDeans email obfuscator generated. Very strange! Please do leave a comment if you notice pages not loading correctly again.
