I took the time today to give SSDutch a long-overdue oil change, and also finally installed the 1.5” wheel spacers on the front wheels. I’ve had them sitting on the shelf for over a year, and hoped they would improve the turn radius of the already-long CJ6. They did!
Another reader entry today -these photos are from hi from Gerald Wuzella of Austria. Gerald has a Jeep related website at http://www.wuze.at.
Here’s a couple photos of Randy Lefler’s 1975 CJ6. I think Randy summed up the CJ6 experience for many of us by saying “Thought it was a bit strange when I first saw it but it grew on me.” Indeed - after having a CJ6 in the garage for a couple of years the CJ5s start to look really short and stubby…
Knowing it’ll probably never look this fresh and clean ever again I had to snap a couple beauty shots at the beach tonight. This brilliant white is actually tough to get a pic of in the sun.
While the master plan is to paint the outside of SSDutch Champagne Gold to match the interior, the summer is slipping by too quickly and other projects are taking longer than planned. I decided this week that the outer paint job probably won’t happen until next spring, so started out to just get the remaining bare metal on the tub lip covered. Once done prepping for that it wasn’t that much more to mask off everything else and just give all the white a rattle-can refresh.
It’s a good 50-footer again....
Here’s a quick easy mod to take advantage of that rear CJ6 space - bicycle water bottle cages mounted there to hold water bottles for the kids.
