CJ6’s on the Web

The Jeep CJ6 seems to truly be the “forgotten Jeep”.  I went through every Jeep book I had last night and could only find passing reference to it.  One book did say that the CJ6 was 150 lbs heavier than a CJ5, and cost $150.00 more than the 5 when new, yet yearly production averaged only 2500 units.

The web is similarly thin on CJ6-specific content.  To illustrate - we’re only a few weeks into this project, and I’m already in the top 5 Google results for CJ6.  Here’s what I’ve found so far on the web:

CJ6 Photo Index hosted at Off-Road.com.  I can’t tell if the parent website is a going concern or not.

Jim Marski’s Civilian Jeeps website has a way-cool Tuxedo Park CJ6 and a “I’m guessing pretty rare” DJ6.

Over at JeepWire, Terry Howe’s Project Deep Six gets extensive coverage.

Carl Lavallee is building a 1975 CJ6, and has posted pictures of the project at his Webshots Album.

Know of any other CJ6 resources on the web?  Drop me a note.

CJ6 Floor Structure

SSDutch’s floor is pretty toasty - what there is left of it.  And it’s already been “fixed” once.  Fellow CJ6 owner John Alesch from Austin Texas kindly sent me some pictures of the floor in his Jeep, giving me an idea on how to reconstruct SSDutch.

Possible Colors

Playing around with a friend’s CJ6 fire Jeep, just trying to get a concept of what SSDutch would look like re-done in the same color scheme.
