Today in the garage SSDutch’s rollcage gets accessorized with a rollcage “belt”, grab bar, and hi-lift mount.
At some point it struck me that many of the things that we’re always finding homes for while Jeeping are in belt-holsters - like cell phones, digital cameras, Leatherman type tools, small binoculars, etc. I came up with the idea of “rollcage belts” - just 1” strap welded to the rollcage with ~ 1/4 gap behind it. I hope this will help keep this stuff both well-secured inside the Jeep but also organized and within reach.
For those belt-pounches that need to slip over, I made it so one end of the rollcage belt could come loose using a thumbscrew.
Another section goes between the seats. I plan to put a 12V plug in the side of the toolbox, this way an iPod or cell phone could plug in there and be secured.
I also put some in the “CJ6” space so rear seat passengers would have a place to secure things. I’m thinking some military style canteens might fit nicely here.
One of the things the rollcage fabricator missed was a grab bar on the passenger side. I cut down the one that came mounted to SSDutch’s dash and welded it in place.
I also found a home for the shaft of the Hi-Lift jack. It’ll will get walked on here, but it’s still out of the way, protected from the elements and well-secured.
