Painting a Vinyl Seat

With the rest of the interior of SSDutch starting to look so good, I wasn’t happy with the back seat.  It’s relatively new, as but (as you can see) stained from the Texas mud.  I’ve never painted vinyl before, but others on the EarlyCJ5.com forums had with success, so I gave it a try.

The seat is the “denim vinyl” that I think will paint up better due to it having more texture than the smooth vinyl. The paint was an “SEM” brand available at my local auto parts store, and one can was enough for 3 coats on everything but the very bottom of the seat, which I figured rarely showed anyway.

As you can see - quite an improvement.  As long as this holds up to use and abuse it will be money well spent.
