A handy combination clip-on chuck and pressure gauge is just the trick for airing up and down.
For airing up tires I read some things on the web and came up with this unit. A clip on air chuck attaches to a whip hose. The other end of the whip hose plugs into one hole of a 3 way manifold, a 60 PSI gauge plugs in another hole. The input of the manifold connects to plumbing shutoff valve. On the input side of the valve is a male air compressor connection.
To air down, I attach this setup to the tire and open the valve to let air out. Closing the valve lets me get a quick pressure reading.
To air up, I connect this to the on-board air compressor and open the valve up to send air into the tire. Closing the valve again gives me a a pressure reading.
The clip on chuck and the whip hose lets me stand up and move a bit while airing up or down.
Seems every time I get this doodad out at a club run it’s several vehicles later before I get it back.
