Where to get parts and information for these old CJ’s.

I often get email asking where to find more parts and information for the earlier Jeeps.

The first place on the web you should visit is the Early CJ5 and Dauntless site.  The site has quite a bit of info, but the real value is in the forum which has over 500 registered members.  I’m a moderator there, so feel free to check in, register, and throw an introductory post out:

The EarlyCJ5 forum also has a “Buyer Beware” section where you can read about experiences with the various vendors for Jeep parts.

Another good internet resource is the Willys Tech Mailing list and it’s Parts Board.  The Willys Tech list is broader in scope than the Early CJ board, covering all Willys/Kaiser vehicles up to around 1971. 

For vendors, I’ve mainly used:

Four Wheel Drive Hardware (Make sure to request the special catalog for old Jeeps).  4WD is in Ohio, which means parts get to Michigan quicker than the the CA based businesses.

and

Carl Walcks.  It works better to call Walcks than email.
