Harrison has adopted the wiring and dash as his pet project, hacking away at the rat’s nest of wiring with a pair of side cutters.
Switches all out, the operational SW gauges will be removed and sold
Floor sections are removed. Funny how many of the bolts were loose/missing. SSDutch will definitely get more use of locktite.
Not sure yet how the 4.3 will be attached to the gas pedal, so I’m keeping all the V6 sections until the engine is in.
Radiator, master cylinder/boost unit all out.

looking good Mike. i wish i had a helper that small to help out. i know i sure wouldnt be as sore the next mornin.
in the write up on ecj5 i am working on i have added the part about the throttle linkage. it was actually really simple to do. there are a couple of pics also of the new cable.

Thanks Jason...so your throttle cable is all cable to the pedal? From looking at your pics you didn’t have a firewall-mounted pedal linkage like Dutch had...I didn’t get a good pic of it, but it mounted right at the apex of the hole, and the pedal hinged from it, it has a return spring, and used rod linkage all the way to the carb.
Not sure if it’s original or not. My pedal just hung - not floor mounted like other Jeeps I’ve seen.

yeah mine was different, the pedal hinged at the middle like a big C, so the pivot was at the middle of the pedal. clear as mud??

I think so...the floor sections I got with the 6 are like that I think...so your linkage is cable all the way from pedal to TBI?

yep… the cable i got fit in the bracket on the engine and also had a little plastic thing that poped into the hole in the firewall. i got lucky on both of those b/c all i did was go to a FLAPS and asked to look at what they had and just picked the shortest one they had and it matched up great. all i had to do was cut a notch so that i could slide the cable into the hole on the pedal.
