Going up to the Rubicon on Hwy395 doing about 70mph up the grades and this CJ-6 towing a pretty hefty camper passed us like we weren’t moving. We were stopping pretty frequently looking at the sights and must have passed eachother 4 or 5 times. Rig was a ‘74 or ‘75 - I forget. Funny as all get out to see.
I’m guessing from Christians new avitar on EarlyCJ5.com that he was driving his Project Hatari 1971 CJ6. I can’t imagine the odds of two old 6’s passing each other on the same road. This would definitely never happen here in Michigan.

First off - Great site! Love CJ’6's! This may sound like an odd question, but what color is this CJ-6? I’ve got a ‘73 that my young son and I are working on, and I gave him choice of color to paint it, and he chose blue. Well, I’ve seen several intermediates this color, and I really like it. I am thinking Renegade Blue, but need confirmation. Thanks!!

Hi Alex -
There’s no real way to be exactly sure, since the pic was taken on the road, and the owner remains unidentified.
Try http://www.autocolorlibrary.com ...maybe they’ll have the ‘74 or ‘75 color chips to look at.

Thanks for the link! Based on the info in the link, I would have to guess “Jet Set Blue Poly” if it’s earlier than a ‘75, and “medium blue poly” if it is a ‘75. Thanks again!
