1974 RHD Halfcab CJ6

Here’s an interesting Jeep currently for sale on eBay—it’s an intermediate era CJ6, but right-hand drive with a half cab.  It looks like the seller now understands it’s a CJ6 and not a CJ5 - but it’s interesting to look at the Jeep dash reversed and try to imagine having to shift with your left hand.  Thanks to Frank Sanborn for the heads up on this one.

Hi Mike,
On a CJ5 and 6, what is the triangular indentation on the rear quarter panels just above the rear wheels use for?  We thought is might be for a side mounted spare tire but that doesn’t seam right.  Do you know why it’s there?

Also, how do I send you a picture of my 1959 CJ6 and become famous on your web site???

Thanks,
David

That’s a carryover from Military days - the softop bow extended into that spot.  Look around at some M38A1 photos with softops on and you’ll see.

Shoot me an email using the contact form here on the site, and I’ll answer back with an address to send photos to.

I have a 1959 CJ6 that I’d like to post on your web site.  Where do I send the picture?

I’ll have to call.  I just get errors when I use the contact form:

Hmm...probably related to all the spam protection measures I have in place to keep from getting blasted with the stuff.
