1974 CJ6 in Los Alamos, NM

Red, but not a fire Jeep!  ;)  Another reader submission, this one a 1974 CJ6 now owned by Alex in NM.

Alex writes of his purchase:

I just acquired a 1974 CJ-6, and am very excited about it! I’ve been wanting a CJ-6 ever since I first laid eyes on Rick Russell’s yellow CJ-6. Anyhow, I was particularly in the market for an Intermediate model because of the upgrades made in ‘72 - steering, swing pedals, more room in the engine compartment, etc. Well, talk about a needle in a haystack finding me, I have been looking online for a few years now, and never quite found one I felt was worth driving out to get.

Well, about a month ago, I get a call from a guy in my home town wanting to look at my AEV modified TJ Rubicon because he wanted to ship his Rubicon up to Montana to have AEV modify it. While he is scoping out my Rubicon, he mentions that once he modifies his Rubicon, he wanted to get rid of his old “hunting jeep.“ Of course, I asked what he had, and he mentions it is a CJ-6. Well one thing led to another, and he dropped it off at my place last night!! He lived less than a mile from my house! What are the odds…..???

Here are some of the specs: Original owner, 1974, 304, PS, PB, Meyers hard top, 40k miles.
