1963 Dually Halfcab CJ6

Here’s a CJ6 on eBay that deserves a few minutes of inspection.  Whether you like the final outcome or not, someone put alot of time into setting this one up - and under all the add-ons is a CJ6 with duallys, a 4-speed, and a rear PTO.

Here’s the text from the eBay ad:

1963 willys jeep cj-6. 14,563 original miles, original paint f4 134 engine with factory 4 speed trans. Factory option dana 70 dual wheel rear axle with 5.88 ratio.

Front axle 5.38 ratio, difference made up with tire size, warn lockomatic front hubs, ramsey winch with factory option ss housing, willys unity fog lamps, rear power take off (pto), 55 amp alternator, 110 volt ac generator for aux power (needs drive belt), owner installed custom windshield washer spray bar (runs but doesnt pump) bosch electric windshield wipers, ss hood vent, ss radiator screen in front of grill, front an rear tow hooks, front ss tow bar, rear tow hitch.

Instrument panel accessories include (from left to right on dash) : stewart warner tach, map light, oil pressure gauge, tiltometer, throttle handle ( not hooked up), water tamp gauge,factory instrument cluster, s.w. vacume gauge, cig lighter with map light , s.w. fuel pressure gauge, servo tek marine percent charge meter, map light, s.w. hobbs engine hour meter.

Cosmetics : original factory paint is brush touched up in various places, driver side rear fender extension fully brushed over in matching color, small an buckles in driver front fender, passengers side at rear step pushed in a little from being bumped, drivers side floor pan has several rust blisters and a few small spots af perforation, (under approx. 1/2 inch dia.), there is some floor pan to side panel seam bulge, passenger side floor pan very good.

Passenger side front tire low on tread, all others are good on tread, side curtain eisenglass is yellowed, drivers side zipper and eisenglass is damaged, needs replacing. Entire rear bed has been lined with ss with many custom ss cabinets and acc. As shown in pics. Tons of custom stainless steel.

Other interesting accessories: ss winch boom with ss marine winch for picking up heavy objects and heavy trailer tongues, cast iron water pump that runs on pto, fire fighting shovel and mount for axe,(axe is missing), 2 weed burning gasoline flame throwers for setting back fires, gi gas can, ss stake for winching, 12 volt prestolite air compressor with hose and tire chuck, compressor appears like new an has not been wired up.

Storage case between front seats contains chrome 12 volt spot light, immersion water heater for heating coffee and ect. , and extension wire for these acc.

Storage bin under passenger seat has control switch for winch, snatch block for winching, 2 1/2 inch socket and adapter for wrenching lock nuts retaining dual rear wheels with ss breaker bar and sportsmans poncho.

Glove box is made of ss and contains original owners manual in good condition and steal box with ss pad lock pins for locking certain acc., ss studs for engine exhaust manifold and spare ignition parts.

All cabinets , storage areas, and removable acc. Have either key locks or provisions for pad locks.

Other spare parts include : misc brake parts including, new old stock dual master cylinder, ramsey nos pto housing assy and numerous parts, custom vertical muffler , electric fuel pump , rear axle shafts and blanking taps for flat towing ability, relays an regulators including 110 volt regulator , nos tach and sending unit, carburator .

The original owner who had this jeep for over 20 years was an eccentric millionaire who lived in rural western maryland and poured much money an engery in to personalizing it for his own purpose. He spared no expense. His brother owned a steel fab shop witch mad eit easy for him to get modifications he wanted. And one time he had a water tank trailer he attached to it he was ready to fight forest fires. He also had a grass cutter attachment witch he used to cut his grass. The ss box on the passengers side cab was used to hold his inverted scotch bottle.
