Google’s Aging Delay for New Sites

If you have a brand new site, stop driving yourself nuts wondering what you are doing wrong! Stop tweaking and changing things, trying to influence your rankings; until the site has been in the index a while, it doesn’t seem to matter what you do to it. Link >>

First I’ve heard of this - but it does make sense.  The thought is that Google is looking at an “age factor” for a site before boosting it’s rank in the index, as a way to quell some of the “Search Engine Optimization” abuses going on.

It might now make sense to float out some pages early on in the development process as a way to get Google aware of the site sooner.
