Migrating an existing site over into ExpressionEngine? You’ll want to install this handy little add-on: Edit This Link.
What this does is create a link on the public side of your site that when you click it, takes you to the edit screen for that entry in the EE control panel. This link is only visible to logged-in users. For example, here is what I see when looking at an entry on Boyink.com:
I can honestly state that this one little chunk of code saved us hours of work as we migrated content over from the pMachinePro version of Boyink.com. It used to be that once you noted an issue on the public side of the site, you had to switch over to the Control Panel and search for that entry - now you just click. It still comes in handy as I peruse existing content and note typos etc - I’m much more likely to go fix those small issues when it’s so easy to get there.
