Bad Hair Day

While out shopping for some living room stuff this weekend we saw some really neat modern/junkyard art pieces that would look good in our kinda retro-ish living room.

Trouble is, we just weren’t willing to pay the prices these kind of pieces seem to fetch (the penalty of being raised Dutch but still liking some cool things.

So - having a decently well stocked junk drawer and scrap metal pile, I decided to try my hand building something other than Jeep parts with my welder.

I dubbed this piece “bad hair day”—something my wife can relate to as she has what my 7 year old daughter has termed “boingy hair”.

I had a blast putting this together - being able to be creative without worrying about browser compatibility, or road-worthiness.  I’m hoping to do more of this kind of stuff in the future - maybe some bigger outdoor pieces for our “still pretty plain” backyard.

Hmm...will have to stock up the scrap metal pile first though.  I guess some junkyard and scrapyard visits will be in order...but then again that’s my idea of a great way to kill a Saturday morning.
