With all the time and attention coming to Train-ee lately you might think that Boyink.com is being neglected. Not true! While I have no schedule for the actual re-design and reimplementation work I have started the ball rolling in a key way. One of my goals for the next design of this site is that it be more whimsical and fun. With a name like Boyink there is just no excuse for stodginess of any sort. To that end I’ve been working with Scott Thigpen of Thigpen Designs to come up with some fun illustrations for the next version of the site.
Here’s a taste of what Scott came up with - this will be used on the site home page. In addition to this illustration, Scott created 5 variations to go on each of the site’s main sections. I’m really happy with the vibe of these, and look forward to designing the rest of the site around them.
If you are building a site and need some illustrations done - by all means contact Scott!

Looks nice indeed, looking forward to what you come up with. Dealing with client work often puts your own site at the end of the queue, we were in the same situation before may this year.

I’ve been planning on doing a redesing of my web design firm site since it was put together really quickly and have been planning on going with illustrations so I’ll probably talk to Scott when I’m ready.

This is certainly something that plagues all design & creative firms. Actually most companies tend to provide the best services to their clients and have little time to improve upon their marketing. But, I guess if the work is coming in and no one is complaining about it then its working!
I’m trying to picture how that illustration will fit into a new site design, looking forward to it.
