Willys-Overland Motors

Overview:

If you know me at all, or have spent any amount of time looking around Boyink.com, you can’t miss the fact that my hobby is old Jeeps.  Working on a 40+ year old vehicle helps me stay sane by balancing out current-day technology with 1960’s era history.

So naturally I jumped at the chance to re-work the site for Willys-Overland Motors.  The WO brand was established in 1912, and over the years has been stamped on a countless number of Jeep vehicles.  The current-day business still serves the Jeep community by selling NOS, aftermarket and used Jeep parts in the Toledo area.

The biggest goal of the site makeover was to create a site that takes advantage of the legacy of the Willys-Overland brand to both create a nostalgic browsing experience and demonstrate the competence that Willys-Overland still has with vintage Jeeps.  The finished product accomplishes this through some new implementation of old logos, use of imagery from the 1940’s through the 1960’s mixed in with current-day photos of restored and modified vintage Jeeps.

Sharp-eyed site visitors will note the footer logo, which is based off a chrome badge used by Willys on 1950's era Station Wagons.
